Undergrad: Advisement And Academic Enrichment Opportunities
(Catalog page 199)
Students are assigned a faculty advisor in their major department
who provide advice on course selection, degree requirements, career
opportunities, and graduate study. Faculty advisors can also assist
with setting up special opportunities such as internships and research
experiences. It is recommended that students meet with their faculty
advisors at least once each semester. The Office of the Assistant Dean
for Student Services, 343 McDowell Hall also provides advisement to
students who experience academic difficulties or who require
additional guidance or information.
Students in most of the college’s majors are eligible to
participate in the University’s Honors Program, undergraduate
research, and Degree with Distinction. Honors Degrees are available
to students in programs offered by the Departments of Health,
Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences, and Medical Technology, and the
School of Nursing.
